Family History of Moving.

Moving furniture has been part of the Bush/Bruce family for over 60 years.  It began with Roy Jr.'s Grandfather, Don Bush Sr., who in 1950 started Don Bush Moving and Storage in Bloomington, Indiana.  Don Bush started with one pick-up, one employee and one dream.  As owner of Don Bush Moving, he was able to build one of the most respected and well-known businesses in Indiana.

While growing up Roy Jr., was able to spend many of his summers growing up in the back of moving trucks learning from the best in his grandfather and his father, Roy Sr., who himself has over 20 years of moving experience.
Roy Jr., had his first work experience in the back of a moving truck when he was 14 years old.  By the age 16, he was working full time in the summer for Don Bush Moving while also balancing school, wrestling and football.  After graduating high school in 1998, Roy Jr., continued to work for the moving company and became a crew leader by July of 1998.  As a crew leader not only was Roy responsible for getting the truck set up and ready to go, but was also in charge of the crew that he was working with that day.  He also held the responsibility of meeting and greeting the customers upon arrival to the job and collecting the payment at the end of the job.  By the summer of 1999, Roy was promoted to the head mover of the company. This meant that he would move all of the bigger clients and be in charge of everything from scheduling moves to giving customers estimates.
In operating Don Bush Family Moving, Roy and his wife Amy will reopen their family business in the same location where Don Bush Moving had all of its success; they will open it in the warehouse that still stands on the property that is family owned.  Roy and Amy feel that this is an important decision in operating their family business since strong family values are what have made the original moving business a success.
